Welcome to the official online presence of the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC). We call ourselves the world's greatest NROTC Battalion for a reason; the high standards we set for midshipmen, and the high caliber of those in leadership positions.

At the University of Illinois, midshipmen are receiving a world class education while also participating as highly motivated members of the Navy/Marine Corps team. Through many extra-curricular events and opportunities for professional growth, Illinois midshipmen are laying the foundation for success in the fleet.

Our mission is to educate and train qualified young men and women for service as commissioned officers in the Navy's unrestricted line, the Navy Nurse Corps and the Marine Corps. As the largest single source of Navy and Marine Corps officers, the NROTC Scholarship Program plays an important role in preparing mature young men and women for leadership and management positions in an increasingly technical Navy and Marine Corps.

The World's Greatest Naval Battalion would like your help assisting the family of Captain Reid Nannen. Reid was a fighter pilot through and through.  He embodied all the qualities of the heroic aviators of old and was the leader of the new generation.  His love of flying was surpassed only by his love of family.  A devout father of four, his passion for family served as a gleaming example for all to emulate.  There was no better husband, father or friend.  He touched countless souls during his journey through life and the world is a better place for it.  Help us ensure his family is supported through the troubling times ahead as well as to establish a solid foundation for his children so they can continue the path he started. Please visit this link to donate to his memorial fund.
