Drill TEAM

The University of Illinois NROTC drill team is a registered student organization composed of midshipmen from the WGNB. The student-led team practices platoon drill, squad drill, and color guard throughout the year, and competes at various competitions around the country.  Additionally, the color guard participates in various school and community events throughout the year, including football games, men/women's basketball games, baseball games, and volleyball games.

Endurance TEAM

The goal of the Endurance Team is to physically and mentally prepare midshipmen for the mini-BUDS cruise option and future Special Warfare/Operations training. It is also a goal of the team to teach proper fitness techniques to any willing participant so they may build good habits into the fleet regardless of an individual's warfare community. The team is open to all battalion members with interest and membership is on a volunteer basis.  Although, there are certain requirements that must be met in order to compete, the group welcomes all those who are seeking a more intensive PT schedule.
RIFLE PISTOL TEAM

The WGNB Rifle/Pistol Team is comprised of motivated members of the battalion interested in marksmanship and weaponry. The team trains at
50 Caliber shooting range for an hour each week to refine and improve our skills. We are comprised of about 15 midshipmen, but only the top 4 shooters compete at drill meets. At our last drill meet, we placed 1st among 10 units and one of our own midshipmen even claimed the title of Top Shot out of all teams competing. RPT is a great way for midshipmen to understand and hone their skills on weapons they will see in the fleet. RPT Midshipman In Charge is MIDN  2/C Colin.
